Scheduled Tasks

Rules are executed automatically using Joomla's Scheduled Tasks feature.

Once a corresponding scheduled task has been configured, Smart User Manager checks all published rules at the defined intervals and performs the configured actions automatically.

Create a Scheduled Task

In the Joomla Administrator, go to System → Manage → Scheduled Tasks and create a new task of the type Smart User Manager.

You can then configure the desired execution interval, for example hourly or daily.

Batch Limit

The Batch Limit (Maximum Number of Users) determines how many users can be processed during a single execution.

A lower value reduces server load, while a higher value speeds up the processing of large numbers of users.

Simulation Mode

Simulation Mode can be enabled for the scheduled task independently of the individual rules.

When Simulation Mode is enabled, no changes are made to user accounts. Instead, all actions are only simulated and recorded in the log.

This allows you to safely test new or modified rules before using them in a production environment.

Locking Mechanism

While a scheduled task is running, Smart User Manager automatically prevents the same task from being started again at the same time.

This reliably prevents duplicate executions and potential conflicts.
